I've never seen this model before - what an enormous plinth!!! Can anyone explain why there so much space on the left side of the platter?

I believe the space is there to accommodate another arm :o :^) ;)
Noticed the 'hole' at the rear side....

Robert, I believe it's for a 2nd arm since this TT can accomodate 2 arms :D

Yeah I noticed that also but the space is so much larger than it needs to be for a second arm I'm wondering if it is there for some other reason? Although it looks like the two arm bases are adjustable on some sort of slider mechanism, so maybe the plan was for the second base to accommodate anything from 9-12" arms or even longer
