Re: Jon Agner's system - Signing On - 27 September 2012

Postby Jon Agner » Thu Sep 27, 2012 2:23 pm

I have already replaced the plastic body of the Denon DL103r with an Ebony body, and now, I seem to have everything back in place. Wifey is listening to her favorite Jheena Lodwick album for the first time and she was relaxed, not minding that it was already way past bedtime. It's been three years ago that my system was forced to sign off, and now, three years after it signed off, it's back on line again and our morning wake up calls and night caps are back to playing music on vinyl :)

Except for the new analog front, everything else remains the same:

Speakers: DIY MLQT Full Range speakers - BEYMA 8AGN
Main Amp: Tubong Bastos 2A3 SET Amp
Pre-Amp: Tono 12au7 pre amp
Phonostage: REGA Fono (expect the return of the Battery Powered Cambridge Azur 640P    )
Step Up Tranny: Cinemag CMQEE 4004
Turntable and Tonearm: ARTT turntable (redesigned) and the PERFECTO 14.5 tonearm
Cartridge: Ebony Wood Bodied Denon DL103r

( Koetsu Rosewood will be put back into rehab :( , one channel limping ;( ;( ;( ) All my Denon DL103rs were also flooded with water and mud (yes, the remants are still inside the plastic body) but surprisingly, it sprung back into action and made its presence felt..... again.

Yes, two years ago, I did a reboot of my system and it was a slow paced comeback. I knew how my equipment played before signing off and I wasn't too sure if on the reboot, it will still sound the same as it was.... after last night, I heard the same music played I last heard three years ago.

Yes, I'm back so happy days are here again :D :D :D :D

YES, I know that you guys actually miss my wife's cooking more than me and my system         we can schedule this soon - but this time, puro healthy food naman... and I'm not referring to the Paella, Caldereta and Crispy Pata :P :P ]:) ]:) ]:)

@Jen, yup, good to be back really, wifey missed the music playing at home :) Now she can't go to sleep as the music gets better when the tubes heat up :)

@ Benjie, too tired to take pics as I normally get home around 10 pm :( :( :( Will take pics of the system this weekend :)

@ Louie, yup, good you still remembered how the ebony bodied Denon DL103r sounded with an ebony armwand :D :D :D The 14.5 inch tonearm actually mated well with the cart :) better than its predecessor :)

Thanks guys :)
