Congrats ferds.....you have increased the value and performance of these commercial products.

What are the most noticeable improvements in sound quality after the upgrade? What are the benefits earned with the mods? Its good to share even with your ears as the reference.

Best regards,

JoeyGS

madeleine peyroux (HDCD) - walkin after midnight - her voice had less reverb, making it tighter, made her voice more age appropriate in my opinion

10,000 maniacs & clair marlo (local pressed CD) - better imaging and separation.

best improvement for me - FIM's super sounds 2 (XRCD24) - the magnificent seven and mozart's divertiemento. the orchestra was more majestic... better timing.

anyway... i also tried the NAD when i was in ferds house and there's only 1 conclusion: his work adds so much more value to the unit. (better unit, better improvement) overall, i'd say the improvement in value is 30% to 50% (IMHO)

again.... Thanks FERDS !

Wow.

Congrats Ferds.

QUESTION ?

how much are the upgrades?

if these upgrades can be effective in improving the sound of these otherwise excellent CD players, meron ba kayang upgrades that are possible with some commercially priced players like the LG DV-130 and the Philips 3120k ?

don't you think its more reasonable to improve on a mediocre product than to begin with an excellent player?

- Replace Cd lens - would you believe this cost me less than P 500?  i almost gave up on my unit since i was previously quoted P 3,800 just for the replacement of the lens and ribbon connector. This guy will do wonders for your rig at a very reasonable cost. Thanks Ferds!
